Our Story

How We Met

This truly is a modern day romance featuring none other than that fateful swipe right. 
The first time we ever met in person was in our local bar (Shout out to the Scratch Bar in Milton). From that first conversation we both knew this was something special... all the way to our first official date at Eat Street Markets where Adam proceeded to eat three people's worth of food and I couldn't hide how picky I am (we are still working on this to this day). 
Over the past few years we have experienced so many beautiful moments that define both our relationship and the foundation of friendship it is built on. 

The Proposal

Elena and Adam planned to celebrate another New Year's Eve together, most of you will know; this is Adam's birthday. Given what Elena does for a job Adam decided that an early birthday picnic would fly under the radar. 
Grabbing the new picnic set, some Brookie's sloe Gin (to calm the nerves) and some stolen fancy cheeses (sorry Trudi - it went to a good cause) the picnic was set under a beautiful tree on the sand looking out over Broken Head Beach in Byron Bay which is just a short drive from Adam's childhood home. There was even a pod of dolphins playing in the water beyond the surfers. 
Adam popped the question after impressively going from sitting to kneeling while producing a ring box in one swift motion (truly a sight to behold). Elena gave a big smile and said yes!  
They celebrated with Adam’s family and friends that night, before ringing in the New Year together.

Accommodation

There are plenty of Airbnb and hotel options in Byron and surrounding areas. 
Our recommendation is to book nearby as Byron doesn't have many Ubers around and taxi's can get expensive. 
Grouping up with other wedding guests in Airbnb's could help bring costs down too.
We encourage you to book sooner rather than later.  

Attire

The dress code is semi-formal. 
Even though the Byron weather is usually quite warm during the day it's a winter wedding so a jacket or something warm for night is recommended. 
For anyone planning on wearing heels, please note there will be lots of dancing later in the evening (dress accordingly). 

Transport

There is limited public transport like buses however there are plenty of taxi's available and some Ubers. 
We encourage people to consider this when booking accommodation and if you have a designated driver remember not to drink and drive! 

Plus Ones/ Children

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate plus ones (unless we have specifically named them on your invite). We ask that you please only enter your own details as part of the RSVP process. If you would like a plus one and we haven't allowed for it, please reach out to us and if we can accommodate them we will let you know.

Children
Although we love your little ones, please note our wedding will be an adult-only affair. We know that this can make things difficult for parents, and appreciate your understanding.
